TSDS provides a variety of services in addition to hands-on
training programs. We can assist in enhancing
an agencies existing skills programs, or, design new
programs for those needing a "in-house" programs. We can also
provide expert witness
services on many use of force subjects.
We carefully integrate our expertise with the specific needs
of your departments use-of-force continuum, operational considerations and any
other factors that are important to you, the valued customer.

T.S.D.S. works closely with your instructors, training
officers, CERT members, and duty officers, as requested, to enhance and improve
an agency's existing defensive tactics program(s). After critical evaluation of
the existing program(s), and or teaching methods, we provide a detailed analysis
of it's strengths and weaknesses, from both "practical application"
and "liability" viewpoint. Suggestions of how to improve the program
are offered. When requested, we work directly with your personnel to insure a
smooth transition to the recommended improvements.
Our purpose is not to replace your existing program with our
programs. Many existing programs are based on solid foundations, but, they need
updated to current standards and the latest developments in the constantly
advancing Defensive Tactics field. We simply provide the expertise and guidance
to make your skills and program(s) more effective and efficient, while improving
safety to both the officer and subject alike.
We work closely with your instructors to help them better
understand the strengths and weaknesses of techniques they currently teach. Many
times we can show them how to make the techniques work better. We can also point
our the problems and weaknesses with each technique, and how to correct or
lessen shortcomings inherent in all techniques. We also offer suggestions on
teaching methods to transfer the skills to the officers more efficiently.
T.S.D.S. will help to design and organize a comprehensive
defensive tactics program to fit your department's specific and unique needs.
These programs are designed to each departments use-of-force continuum,
operational and personnel considerations, and any other important factors
important to the host agency. All programs are part of a carefully integrated
"system" of Defensive Tactics that blends directly into Mechanics of
Arrest and Firearms techniques and methods. So, the skills and methods of each
of these individual topics are directly related to the skills and methods in all
of the "other" topics!
